Job Title: Domestic Abuse Services - Pathways Worker

Job Location: Walsall

Salary - £13.16 per hour

Contract type - Permanent

Working hours - Full Time 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday



About the Service

Domestic Abuse Walsall Service provides emergency, short-term accommodation, refuge and dispersed provision for women and men, with or without children, who are escaping abuse. We provide a wrap around service that supports the client and family unit to recover and resettle.


About the role

  • To provide a first response to callers who need safe accommodation.
  • Liaising with victims and external agencies to establish if domestic abuse accommodation is available and safe for the victim.
  • Establish risk posed to the victim and assess suitability for accommodation services
  • Offering immediate advice, liaising and signposting to other agencies
  • Receive and process referrals to the service from a variety of sources including specialist agencies, housing, social care, police, health care staff and self-referrals
  • Ensure appropriate and safe travel arrangements are in place for service user
  • Advertise vacancies on Refuges Online and with Walsall Housing teams, keeping this up to date. Work with Housing IDVA to ensure information is shared appropriately on new service users coming into the scheme
  • To ensure allocated support workers are aware of the background of the new service user and their family by maintaining Up-to-date and accurate client records

Management of data and produce weekly and monthly reports
