Job Description
This newly created role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director or an ambitious Head of Service to progress their career as a key member of our innovative and professional team.
We are about to launch the next iteration of our business strategy, Plan A. The plan sets out ambitious, forward-thinking objectives that will shape the future of our assets and repair services. It’s rooted in ambition, driven by data and customer insight and ensures a relentless focus on improving lives through sustainable homes and communities. It addresses new regulatory requirements and prepares for the updated Decent Homes Standard.
About Us
We are an award-winning not for profit housing association owning over 9,000 homes across County Durham. We offer more than just a home. We help improve the lives of the people living in our homes and in our communities. We work hard to make sure those homes are warm, safe, high quality and sustainable, while meeting the needs of customers in balanced communities.
Our business strategy, Plan A, guides our work for the next three years to improve lives through sustainable homes and communities. From expanding digital services and embracing AI, to creating low-energy homes and empowering communities, every objective is designed to make a real difference. Whether it’s through greener operations, smarter data, or stronger partnerships, we’re setting the pace for a future where everyone can feel proud of where they live.
About The Role
This new role will be pivotal in co-ordinating all property services functions including asset management, repairs and maintenance and compliance, leading a team of over 30 property and construction professionals to drive value from these services. The role involves managing a £26 million budget, leading high-performing teams, implementing service improvements, and developing solutions to enhance performance, financial efficiency, commercial excellence, and customer outcomes.
About You
An exceptional leader, you will embody our values and have senior leadership experience in social housing with a proven record in delivering outstanding performance in asset management.
Highly analytical with excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be adept at presenting clear, balanced and evidenced rationale to Executive Management Team and Board on proposed courses of action. With a keen eye for detail, a commitment to high standards and with natural problem-solving ability, you will be quickly able to develop credibility with a range of stakeholders, leading by example and make an immediate impact in translating strategy into operational action.
Degree or level 6 qualified, you will hold or be eligible for CIOB or RICS membership and be able to demonstrate continuous professional development in leadership and management.
