Production Engineer, A&P Tyne
A crucial role, working within our Project Team and with our on-site Client team ensuring all aspects of the work that we are doing is planned, coordinated and expedited as needed.
Monitoring, maintaining and reporting the progress with daily project operations you'll prepare, schedule, co-ordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects.
In this role you'll be working on projects of national importance on some of the most sophisticated vessels ever built, helping to secure the nation's future defence. Could this be you?

From A&P Tyne we are currently delivering units for the Future Submarine Programme and so are looking for a Production Engineer to support this.
And what will you do?
You must also undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check before your employment starts, which will include a basic DBS check.

And what will you do?
- As specialists in the Heavy Fabrication of one or two offs we're looking to develop on your existing project skills with a view to managing your own Fabrication Projects in the future.
- With your Project Manager you'll develop the Project Execution Plan outlining how, when and by whom targets are to be achieved
- You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand tender specifications, technical requirements, and project deliverables
- Managing project costs, budgets, and financial forecasts you'll ensure profitability and alignment with commercial objectives
- Selecting, negotiating with, and overseeing subcontractors, you'll be making sure that their work aligns with project timelines and quality standards
- You'll provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all engineering and production processes meet standard
- Monitoring production processes and quality control measures you'll ensure the highest level of product
- Addressing and resolving technical or operational issues during the project you'll minimise disruptions
- Preparing and presenting regular project status reports to management and other stakeholders, you'll be highlighting key milestones, risks, and opportunities
- Knowledge of production processes and engineering principles with qualifications in Engineering, Production Management or similar
- Project management and organisational skills
- Experience in commercial management, including budgeting and cost control
- The ability to manage and negotiate with subcontractors effectively using strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Working experience with relevant software and tools like CAD and MS Project
