JOB OUTLINE:

To deliver a digital inclusion project that engages digitally excluded people from priority areas in East Birmingham and North Solihull and through planning and support, move them into further learning opportunities, education opportunities and ultimately, towards and into employment. Whilst no eligible resident would be refused, the service will target people with disabilities and long-term conditions working in collaboration with the DRC Information, Advice & Guidance Officer and colleagues from Better Pathways.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To develop interactive workshops for individuals and small groups within the community, workshops to include IT basics, setting up and using an email account, messaging software and applications, using the NHS app, online banking and budgeting, online safety, using travel applications, job searching and applying for jobs online.
  • To undertake needs assessments with participants
  • To construct individual action plans, in conjunction, with participants and review these on a regular basis
  • To design lesson plans and schemes of work
  • To evaluate the sessions being delivered on a regular basis to ensure that they are meeting the needs of participants
  • To signpost, support and encourage participants to progress onto community or AEB learning and/or employment
  • To work within the Matrix standard
  • To complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • To update the CRM with appropriate information.
  • To develop good relationships with delivery partners, agencies and services for the benefit of the project and its participants
  • Responsible for sourcing eligible service users for the programme
  • To supply monitoring information to the line manager on a monthly basis.

The post holder will come in contact with vulnerable adults and will therefore be subject to a disclosure check at an enhanced level prior to confirmation of employment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications Essential

Hold a Level 3 NVQ certificate in Information, Advice & Guidance

Relevant qualification in IT

Experience Essential

A Proven track record of developing quality and effective schemes of work and lesson plans

Proven track record in community engagement and development

Experience of working within the Ofsted framework

Experience of using the AEB’s ILR system


Experience of partnership working


Proven track record of sourcing employment and training opportunities

Experience of completing needs assessments and additional project paperwork

Experience Desirable

Specific delivery to disabled people and those with long term health conditions.

Knowledge Essential


Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences.

Hands on problem solving.

Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Proactive, self-motivated, and a team player.

Good working knowledge of IT including MS Office and data management.
