About the Role:

We are looking for a new Pre-Academy coach to join our Category 1 Academy Coaching Department. You will support and report to the Head of Coaching and be responsible for the technical development and assist in the physical, mental, social and where necessary, academic development of the Academy schoolboy players within Nottingham Forest Football Club.

The role will be on an ad-hoc engagement/sessional basis.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching to develop players of elite quality who are creative and allow us to achieve our objective of outplaying the opposition.
  • In conjunction with their respective age group co-ordinators make informed decisions regarding the signing of trialists and the retention of players.
  • Be fully prepared for all games and training and tidy up playing areas after training and games and dressing rooms for both home and away games.
  • Ensure all players and parents are informed of details regarding training and games.
  • Act at all times in a manner appropriate of the Club displaying the Academy traits and ensure that all players in your charge also act in an appropriate fashion and display the Academy traits.
  • Promptly communicate with the Academy Phase Leads all important information, e.g., late arrivals, non-attendance.
  • Ensure the correct procedure is carried out for trialists and that they are all registered and within the prescribed trial period.
  • Enforce the player and parent Code of Conduct.
  • Drive the Club minibus when required to transport players/staff/parents to and from games.
  • Take part in Continued Professional Development (CPD) activities, both inside and outside the Club, to improve the quality of your coaching and overall work, e.g., ensuring all qualifications are up to date and additional, relevant qualifications are undertaken when appropriate and agreed with the Head of Coaching.
  • Where necessary and if available take part in the scouting of players within the Academy.
  • Complete all the necessary administration to comply with EPPP requirements and the PMA (Player Performance Application Tool).


What are we looking for:

Essential:

  • Minimum current qualification UEFA B Licence.
  • FA Youth Award.
  • DBS/CRB check.
  • Safeguarding Children Certificate.
  • FA Coaches Club Licence Maintenance.
  • Emergency First Aid (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with these age groups preferably in an Academy or Centre of Excellence.

Desirable:

  • UEFA A Licence.
  • Advanced Youth Award.
  • Professional Playing Experience.
  • UEFA Pro Licence.
