Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

This role is in our Plant & Fleet department, our Plant & Fleet supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

What will you be doing?

We're looking for a finance professional who thrives on analysis, collaboration, and problem-solving. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations—guiding decision-making with insightful data, ensuring our accounts are accurate and reliable, and driving improvements that make a real difference.

You'll take ownership of monthly and year-end analysis, making sense of P&L costs and expenses to provide valuable insights. Your work will support key financial processes, including managing accruals, prepayments, and journal entries, helping to shape our monthly management accounts. You'll also be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, tackling discrepancies and identifying risks and opportunities.

Beyond the numbers, you'll be a key point of contact for day-to-day queries, working closely with different teams across the business to find solutions and drive efficiency. You'll play a vital role in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, supporting senior managers and stakeholders with clear, actionable financial insights.

Because we're always looking to improve, you'll help refine our finance processes, contribute to transition activities, and provide ad hoc reporting to support evolving business needs. Plus, you'll be an important part of year-end reporting and audit deliverables, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience of working in a fast moving Accounts team
  • Qualified by experience or AAT qualified or working towards
  • Ability to prioritise workloads in order to meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work under your own initiative to drive improvements
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels is essential
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word & Excel
