The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.

ALO’s play a key role in the successful delivery of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, being part of the Engagement team reporting to the Stakeholder Manager and the relevant scheme Project Installation and Assembly Manager (PIAM). They will be responsible for:

  • Forming trusting relationships and being the prime contact with third party stakeholders such as landowners, farmers, tenant farmers, IDBs
  • Informing the landowners of project requirements and construction matters together with collating the landowner feedback to inform the Project team.

  • Will be the key contact for all landowners / farmers / tenants for the duration of the project
  • Will undertake discussions with the landowner regarding the impact that the project will have on their business and farming regimes and ensure that the project team and Lands agents are aware for construction timings and compensation matters
  • Responsible for coordinating all Pre-Entry assessments/ surveys on the land and collating additional information provided by the landowners / farmers
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding land and land drainage matters and assist the project team and land drainage consultant with the post construction drainage design
  • Carry out pre-entry and access agreements throughout the project with landowners in conjunction with the Lands team and site teams
  • Discuss accommodation works with landowners – e.g water troughs for stock, irrigation pipework, fencing etc
  • Responsible for the communication with the landowner regarding soil management, advising on any potential risks and ensuring protective provisions are implemented
  • Will record all interactions with stakeholders and will complete data input for monthly reports
  • Will attend necessary project meetings and will continuously monitor for any conflicting information that could cause an impact on the landowner
  • Will advise the project team of any potential issues in a proactive manner
  • During construction, maintaining engagement with the landowners and project team about construction matters and project requirements
  • Undertake site inspections during construction to monitor working practices are compliant to SPA working practices and their obligations to the Landowner
  • Will ensure that the reinstatement works are agreed with the project team and landowner following completion of works
  • Will be responsible for the coordination of the required tasks to close out the project and to ensure minimal impact on the landowner
  • Be an advocate of Anglian Water Make Today Great behaviours at all times and be a role model for all teams

  • An engaging and enthusiastic individual that can form relationships at ease and is an excellent communicator who can build and sustain relationships with the project teams and external stakeholders (inc farmers and residents)
  • Can travel and be located at the scheme location during lifetime of the project.
  • Has experience of being part of a large-scale infrastructure programme, in particular ones that have an impact on agricultural businesses as well as knowledge in soils and drainage in challenging terrain and conditions.
  • Can work collaboratively with the project team to help deliver the best solutions.
  • Has a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to innovate and get the job done!
  • Has the capability to use project systems to record stakeholder interactions and project progress
  • Is a proactive problem solver keeping the business objective at the heart of every decision
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft packages
