This is a full-time role, based in the Nottingham Support Office 5 days per week. The Pharmacy Contracts Assistant supports the Healthcare Services Team and other senior colleagues across the business by reviewing, negotiating and mitigating risks in pharmacy contracts, working collaboratively with legal and other internal teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to support patients in accessing safe and impactful pharmacy services in Boots pharmacies throughout the United Kingdom, whilst working in a supportive and driven team.

About the role

This role sits within the Healthcare Services Team and reports into the Professional Contracts Specialist, with whom you will work closely to ensure contracts are agreed for locally commissioned services.

You will work with, support and learn from various functions across the business including our Superintendent Pharmacist's Office, Legal Team, Tenders Team, Insurable Risk, Data Protection Team and Pharmacy Field Team, as well as liaising with and supporting relationships with external commissioners.

You will be accountable for:

  • Reviewing, drafting and processing standard pharmacy contracts.
  • The timely provision of advice, support and guidance to Healthcare Partnership Managers.
  • Identifying, explaining and mitigating contractual risks and providing guidance on these points to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with various internal teams such as Legal, Data Protection and the wider Healthcare Services team.
  • Providing assistance to the Professional Contracts Specialist.
  • Efficiently managing the Contracts Team's workload by keeping track of deadlines and balancing priorities.
  • Managing and improving the contracts process while optimising efficiency.
  • Keeping informed of changes to relevant policies and legislation and updating contract templates and guidance accordingly.
  • Building strong relationships with Stakeholders across the business.
  • The timely provision of advice, support and guidance to other teams within the wider Healthcare Business Unit, such as Boots Online Doctor, Healthcare Development and Public Affairs and Life Sciences.

What you'll need to have

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) across a wide range of stakeholders, who operate at many different levels across the business.
  • Strong attention to detail, being able to identify irregularities in large bodies of text.
  • Excellent organisational skills, being able to balance a variable workload and keep track of deadlines.
  • Strong administrative, data management and IT (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) skills.
  • Ability to prioritise a demanding workload with appropriate pace whilst maintaining a consistent, high-quality output.
  • A degree that demonstrates an ability to undertake detailed research and analysis which can be applied to relevant policies and legislation.
  • An analytical approach, being able to identify, explain and reason risks and mitigate and provide guidance on these points for internal stakeholders.

It would be great if you also have

  • A law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Experience reviewing and drafting contractual documents
  • Prior experience of stakeholder management
