We’re looking for a motivated and strategic Category Manager to join our team in Billericay. This is a great opportunity for someone with procurement experience who’s ready to take ownership of supplier relationships, drive sourcing initiatives, and improve the full contract and procurement lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing:

Contract Management & Specification Writing

  • Drafting specifications and identifying contract needs across a small portfolio or specific areas of the business
  • Ensuring contracts are aligned with operational goals and compliance requirements

Supplier Coordination & Relationship Management

  • Acting as the main point of contact for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Managing relationships in line with contract performance plans and agreed outcomes

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collecting and interpreting procurement data using established tools
  • Preparing reports and presenting key insights to support business decisions

Market Research & Supplier Analysis

  • Researching market trends, supplier options, and cost drivers
  • Providing insights to help guide sourcing and category decisions

Cost Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identifying cost variances and highlighting opportunities for savings
  • Recommending process improvements to senior stakeholders

Stakeholder Support & Issue Resolution

  • Handling procurement-related queries from internal teams and suppliers
  • Explaining processes and escalating complex issues where needed

Vendor Negotiation & Category Management

  • Leading negotiations to secure competitive pricing and strong supplier terms
  • Managing small-to-medium sized categories or specific segments within larger procurement areas

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain – ideally with contract and supplier management exposure
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data
  • Solid communication and negotiation abilities
  • A proactive mindset and ability to manage your workload independently
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and adapting to change
