What does the day of a Care Home Assistant Practitioner look like?

As a naturally caring and compassionate person, you will play a pivotal role in delivering great quality, person related care:

  • Support registered nursing staff to meet the clinical care needs of service users on a daily basis including under supervision in complex situations.
  • In the absence of a Registered Nurse, take change of a service or unit within a service, taking clinical decisions within scope of competence.
  • Work autonomously to undertake routine elements of an individual’s assessments, treatments, and interventions, following protocols, evidence-based practice, guidelines and policies.
  • Assess, plan and implement person- centered care while considering the physical, mental, social and spiritual needs of residents and manage associated risks within scope of competence.
