The Company

Our client is a European turnkey provider of Development and Construction services, specifically within the carbon Capture and green hydrogen markets.

The role:

As CTO you will be responsible for the technical quality of all business process, starting in the business development phase, validating the development of projects from a technical standpoint through to construction, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time and on budget.

You will be responsible for technical / technological solutions, assessing the related risks and devising corresponding strategies and risks mitigation. You will be managing a team of specialists, as well as setting up and overseeing a network of partners. These embrace both internal Group businesses but also external partners (OEMs, EPCs...).
You will be part of the UK Leadership Team, report to the CEO and work in close relation with the Group CTO.

Your tasks:


- Corporate management of the UK technical team, providing the necessary technical expertise and workforce for project and business development, execution and operation phases.
- Partnership management, coordinated with Corporate, with a focus on UK projects and related network of partners, both internal and external of the Group.
- Contribute to the definition and execution of the UK O&M strategy
- Guaranteeing the overall technical quality of any project coming to the Final Investment Decision [CAPEX, OPEX, schedule, risks]
- Getting the execution strategy approved
- Managing the technical execution of projects and commissioning phase
- Providing the technical inputs for all procurement activities, in close relation with business development and legal department
- Ensuring the business acts accordinglu to and in line with the best industrial certified standards.

Your profile:


- Completed postgraduate studies in engineering or equivalent,
- At least 20 years of professional experience in large industrial projects and/or the energy sector,
- Ideally you have held a previous role as CTO in an industrial company,
- Solid knowledge of large technical project management, from design to execution phase,
- Solid knowledge of industrial operations and maintenance,
- Ability to embrace complex industrial projects involving several partners,
- Ability to adapt to different cultural environments, especially in UK and French context,
- Committed, goal- and team-oriented working style,
- Openness and relational intelligence, decision-making ability,
- A healthy dose of pragmatism and the ability to lead,
- Clear, transparent and goal-oriented communication in project work, including obtaining and giving feedback.
