The role

This role sits within an established Marketing & BD team and provides the opportunity to work with the Marketing & BD Manager to shape the firm’s approach to BD and client management. They will act as a trusted advisor and first point of contact within the firm on all BD matters and will work closely with the Marketing & BD team to deliver on firmwide initiatives, particularly the key client programme.

Reporting to the Marketing & BD Manager, the Senior BD & Client Relationship Management Executive will work closely with the Marketing & BD Director, Practice Group leaders, Client Partners and BD leads from across the firm.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior BD & Client Relationship Management Executive will be responsible for the delivery of a range of activities, including:

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Maintaining the key client programme and supporting client groups and client partners.
    • Supporting client teams with regular client plan reviews.
    • Gathering client requirements from reports of client interactions and working with client partners to deliver these.
    • Supporting the Marketing & BD Manager to deliver the client programme.
    • Ensuring the creation and dissemination of client information (i.e. quarterly reports, investor calls and annual corporate updates made available by clients).
    • Logging and reporting Client relationship management activity.
    • Identifying and researching key industry events and conferences as required to support BD and Client Relationship management activity for key clients or target clients.
    • Keeping informed about industry trends, competitor and client activities.
  • Bids & proposals:
    • Drafting and collating proposal responses and credential documents.
    • Production of business development materials.
    • Maintaining and updating a master library of proposal material.
    • Logging proposal outcomes and extracting best practice.
    • Ensuring proposal deadlines are met and liaising with partners to meet ad hoc requirements and deadlines.
  • Data analysis focused on key sectors and clients.
    • Working with the Business Intelligence team to set up ongoing reporting for existing clients.
    • Sector analysis and new market research.
    • Reporting on new areas of focus and the anticipated BD opportunities available.
    • Taking an active role in managing our client data (via Introhive) including attending regular calls with the provider, flagging issues to support when needed and answering regular queries from fee earners in relation to who knows who in geographical areas or clients.
  • Client listening - supporting the development and execution of the client listening programme.
  • Referrer management - supporting the development of the referrer management programme and ongoing maintenance of this once developed.
  • Supporting the Marketing & BD Director to deliver Business Development objectives for the firm.
  • Administrative tasks and supporting the function, as appropriate.
Skills And Experience We’re Looking For

You will be self-motivated, with an analytical mind, attention to detail focused and the ability to work under pressure. You will enjoy interfacing with a diverse range of people and have the ability to deliver on brief. Establishing credibility and rapport with the firm’s partners is something you will enjoy. You are passionate about helping to create a dynamic and high performing marketing & BD team.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess The Following

  • Experience in client relationship management or business development related roles within a professional services environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Technically minded and willing to embrace new systems and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative approach to working with the team, other business services departments and the wider firm.
  • Positive, tenacious and keen to drive initiatives forward.
  • Experience using client management systems such as Introhive would be an advantage.
