Role: Chief Operating Officer - Solar, Onshore Wind, Green Hydrogen & Battery Storage
Location: UK (London) or Germany (Hamburg) (Remote working optional - with an expectation of 2 days per week in office)
Salary: £180-220K + 30% bonus, Pension & Healthcare

The Company:

My client is an established renewable energy developer/IPP with an international presence and over 1000 employees globally.

They currently have a 7GW pipeline globally and are looking for a COO to support their continued growth within the BESS, Hydrogen, Solar and Onshore Wind markets

Their Geographic focus is split between their core/growth countries including the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy and France.

Duties:

- Measuring the efficiency of company operational processes and taking steps to improve them.
- Developing strategies for the growth of the organisation and making sure they are implemented.
- Liaising between the organisation and clients, for quality assurance purposes.
- Ensuring the FD/CFO has raised investment and funding for the business in order to facilitate operational growth.
- Ensuring that all employees, including senior management, have access to mentoring and coaching, to optimise motivation levels.
- Developing and controlling all operational budgets to ensure that the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters and to maintain the financial strength of the company.
- Empowering the operational team with the leadership and resources they need to successfully complete operations initiatives
- Coordinating with human resources (HR) to ensure the success of recruitment and retention policies and processes.
- Regularly reviewing operations to ensure that these meets required standards and recommend changes where necessary.
- Partnering with other C-level executives to accomplish short and long-term operational goals
- Overseeing the operations of the organisation and making any necessary changes to meet business goals and projection.
- Measuring and reporting on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators.
- Taking charge of acquisitions and sales to promote the success of the organisation.
- Ensuring that an effective remuneration system is in place for employees.
- Promoting effective and clear internal and external communications.
- Acting as the company's main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keeping abreast of latest developments to ensure that the Company maintains its competitive position.

Experience & Education


- Minimum 15+ years direct management experience in a regulated commercial sector; prior experience in Power & Renewables.
- Global experience and cultural dexterity. Appreciates working with and managing people from different backgrounds who are based in different jurisdictions.
- Track record of originating new business opportunities within the Energy Sector; has negotiated sale agreements and understands what is required to deliver significant development projects, including taking greenfield developments to completion.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in power, energy or large infrastructure project development, through origination, feasibility and development across stakeholder management, permitting, government relations, engineering design, business case analysis, revenue securing.
- Excellent influencer and strong communication skills; able to engage employees, partners and stakeholders.
