The Role
As Consumables Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, maintenance, and issuing of all consumable products used within the business. This includes a range of materials, tools, and other essential items. The role requires close collaboration with various teams to ensure that consumables are readily available, accurately recorded, and managed efficiently. Additionally, the individual will provide support within the warehouse, assisting with various administrative tasks and picking activities when needed.

The Role

The role requires close collaboration with various teams to ensure that consumables are readily available, accurately recorded, and managed efficiently. Additionally, the individual will provide support within the warehouse, assisting with various administrative tasks and picking activities when needed.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Source and purchase consumables based on operational requirements, maintaining a balance between quality and cost
- Monitor stock levels, anticipate needs, and place orders in a timely manner to avoid stockouts
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and timely delivery
- Maintain accurate records of all consumables, tracking usage and stock levels
- Organise and manage the storage of consumable items to ensure ease of access and proper stock rotation
- Conduct regular stock audits and resolve discrepancies in inventory records
- Coordinate the issuance of consumables to relevant departments or staff as required, ensuring proper documentation is completed for each transaction
- Monitor the usage of consumables and highlight any significant trends or irregularities to the management team
- Provide general administrative support within the warehouse, assisting with various tasks as needed
- Support the picking, packing, and distribution of consumable items to ensure that stock is available for use across departments
- Ensure that stock is correctly labelled and stored in the appropriate locations within the warehouse
- Assist with the organization of stock taking and ensure that warehouse procedures are followed efficiently
- Ensure all consumable-related processes comply with company policies and industry standards
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and stock levels for reporting and audit purposes
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and address any quality issues or discrepancies
- Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements or changes where necessary
- Suggest and implement improvements to streamline the procurement and inventory processes
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in consumables management
- Proven experience in an administrative or procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in using inventory management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work effectively in a warehouse environment, supporting various operational needs
- Knowledge of supplier management and procurement processes is a plus
