- To ensure the laboratory is prepared and ready for use for the scientists,with respect topreparing consumables for daily laboratory tasks, ensure work spaces are clean and disposal of waste.
- Calibration of equipment and laboratory monitoring duties (environmental checks). To undertake monitoring and care of equipment
- Have responsibility for maintaining and issuing media orders to ensure there are no delays in any laboratory work
- Ensure that laboratory stock is maintained with respect to general laboratory consumables and placing orders with suppliers in a reasonable time frame to ensure no delays with any lab duties. To liaise with the store assistant to ensure lab stock is sufficient.
- Must ensure orders are placed with approved suppliers only. Liaise with QA to send out vendor questionnaire to new suppliers as required.
- Support the Laboratory Support leader in Media prep, stores and sample booking as and when required following cross training.
- To check expiry dates of all consumables in the lab to ensure they are appropriate for use.
- To check usage records of equipment to ensure it is fit for use.
- Support laboratory staff with the Laboratory Supports Leaders authorisation on revenue generating tasks as and when required.
- To ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the method/s supplied in a manner to obtain accurate results and inform the Laboratory Manager , Laboratory Support Leader or General Manager of any circumstances arising that may jeopardise the integrity of such results.
- To keep the Laboratory Manager, Laboratory Support Leader or General Manager informed concerning the status of their work, including situations which may lead to potential delays.
- To undertake routine basic laboratory duties and/or clerical duties unsupervised and selected project work under supervision, documenting work in compliance with company procedures.
- To collate data for laboratory records in preparation of reports and for compliance with quality procedures for work performance in their Section
- To work in compliance with GLP, GMP and the policies and procedures of Wickham Micro Quality System.
- To conduct all activities in accordance with the site documents relating to Health and Safety
- To comply with written procedures and to comment on these as necessary.
- To update the LIMS, purchasing and inventory systems as and when required in line with their duties.
