We are an employee-owned supported living organisation who specialise in providing bespoke support to people with learning disabilities & complex needs to live in their own home.

This is an amazing opportunity to work with a young person who lives in their own home. They have Autism & Learning Disability & are supported to communicate their wishes & needs. They like structure & routine in their day & enjoy watching DVD’s, listening to music, going on walks, going to the park. We need staff to work with the person long term, to build trust & strong relationships. We need positive loyal, committed staff who are fun & enjoy having a laugh & being a little silly to enrich their life.

We are looking to recruit a Full-Time Deputy Service Leader in Jarrow, South Shields. This role involves working weekends, evenings and sleep ins.

£14.20 per hour & £97.68- £122.10 for sleep-ins, £50 per on call day, average annual salary of £35,000.

Key responsibilities -

  • To support him to enjoy life & encourage him to develop life skills
  • To assist the service manager as directed in the daily running & management of the service & induct new team members, staff supervisions & appraisals, annual leave & recording sickness, documentation for support plans, rotas and payroll
  • To be part of the on-call system & fully comply with Orbis Support’s policy for ‘On-Call’ & provide, advise & support & cover in services if necessary
  • To complete daily paperwork & reports accurately when necessary
  • To carry out range of household tasks, minor maintenance & repair tasks as directed, ensuring that high standards of hygiene & cleanliness are always maintained
  • To promote Equality, Diversity & inclusion within Orbis Support
  • Liaise as required with families, carers, advocate & professionals
  • Undertake all other duties and tasks commensurate with scope & grade of post as directed by senior staff. Orbis Support LTD provide support that is flexible & responsive to changing needs, from time to time the job description may be altered after appropriate consultation. The needs of those supported will always be paramount.
