This is an exciting new opportunity to join our teaching team at Northern College. In this role you will deliver impactful qualifications to adult learners
This role offers a unique blend of teaching, assessing, and course development responsibilities, involving both onsite and offsite community delivery at venues across the region.

You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment on a variety of courses in line with the Education Inspection Framework. Delivery subject areas will be Health and Social Care, Learning Difficulties, Children and Young People's Mental Health and Psychology With vocational experience in Health and Social Care you will be able to share your health and social care knowledge teaching adult learners (aged 19+). Within the education inspection framework, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our innovative employer focused online distance learning courses which include completing tutorials, conducting assessments as well as designing, planning and delivering high quality engaging lessons on and off campus including short course provision for blended and online delivery Our ideal candidate will have experience of teaching a wide range of health and social care knowledge and skills using blended learning strategies to inspire and guide learners to maximise their development and learning opportunities


Key Responsibilities


  • Organise, plan, deliver and assess high quality teaching, learning and assessment on a variety of courses in line with the Education Inspection Framework and University requirements
  • Design and development of teaching and learning materials including those required for blended and online delivery.
  • Ensuring the successful completion, achievement and progression of all students in the curriculum area.
  • Ensuring the College quality assurance procedures and requirements of accrediting bodies and RARPA are adhered to and accurate courses and awarding body registrations are completed.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Proven recent experience in teaching delivery in relevant subject area/levels
  • A degree or Level 3 qualification in the relevant subject area, along with a level 5 teaching qualification.
  • English and Maths at level 2 or above
  • Assessor/IV Award or willing to achieve within specified period
