Join us at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as a Commercial Contract Officer. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact by supporting the delivery of the Pensions Dashboards Programme—an ambitious initiative set to transform how millions of people across the UK engage with their pensions. You'll play a key role in managing commercial contracts, ensuring value for money, and working closely with stakeholders to help build a digital infrastructure that connects over 52 million adults with thousands of pension providers.

You’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to helping people across the UK improve their financial wellbeing.

Role Overview
The Commercial Contract Officer will report directly to Commercial Lead for the Pensions Dashboard Programme. In this role, you will be responsible for:

· Commercial management of the Pension Dashboard Programme associated contracts, mainly digital but category specific knowledge is not mandatory

· Producing relevant commercial management reporting information for leadership team;

· Supporting the capture and management of commercial risks and opportunities

· Supporting the Commercial Lead in the management and negotiation of variations.

· Leading the management and negotiation of non-complex variations

· Support the Commercial Lead in undertaking complex procurement activity

· Leading the end-to-end undertaking of non-complex procurement activity.

· Maintain procurement pipeline and supplier database for in scope contracts

Skills and Experience Required
To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

· Experience of commercial contract management and/or experience of running procurement, or willingness to extend your knowledge if you do not have experience of both

· Strong relationship management, communication and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge and experience of the procurement and contract management cycle.

· Knowledge and experience of public procurement regulations and practices, or willing to learn and become experienced

· Proficient with all standard MS Office applications.

· A member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or WCC Qualified or equivalent qualification or is working towards or willing to work towards.

Flexible Working
At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
