Community Housing is a community based social housing provider with around 6,000 homes, based in the Wyre Forest District of Worcestershire. Our aim is “to provide affordable, quality homes and deliver great services in safe communities” and our ambition is to be a great landlord. That means an unrelenting focus on our customers and concentrating our resources on the things that matter to them.

We have an exciting Corporate Plan that sets our four priorities:

  • Looking out for Customers
  • Looking after Homes and Neighbourhoods
  • Looking out for Colleagues
  • Looking after our Company

Our Board Members play a central role in overseeing our governance and ensuring that, as we pursue our ambitions, we don’t underestimate important issues or fail to meet the expectation of customers, our regulators, funding bodies and other key stakeholders. They work closely with our organisational leaders, to ensure constructive challenge and scrutiny supports our ongoing improvement.

We now have two opportunities for individuals to join our Board.

If you have professional expertise in audit, or knowledge of cyber/digital security, you will be well placed to take on the role of Independent Audit & Assurance Committee Member. And we would also like to hear from individuals with professional experience in asset management to take on the role of Chair of Investment Committee. In either role your professional expertise will be complemented by a passion for great customer service and an understanding of the role that good quality homes can play in improving people’s life opportunities.

We are looking for candidates who have an interest in social housing even though they may not have direct experience of working in the sector. And we are working to ensure our Board is representative of our communities and that a breadth of perspectives and experiences inform our work – so we are keen to encourage applications from BAME candidates.

To find out more, please go to www.jointhetchgteam.co.uk or if you would like to discuss the opportunities further, please call Anne Elliott on 07875 762029.

The closing date for applications is: 20th June
