Job Purpose

You will be responsible for supporting the installation, repair and maintenance of LV assets including EV chargers and BESS assets.

You’ll be working in a fast paced modern environment, providing proactive, planned and reactive support in all aspects of your field of expertise.

You'll ensure compliance with company, statutory and regulatory requirements at the same time minimising environmental impact.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

As the role can require lone working and regional travel therefore, you’ll need to be comfortable working alone or as part of a team. The role may include working in confined spaces as well as the opportunity to provide input into capital and operational projects to ensure assets fully meet operational and maintenance requirements. Your duties will include the following:

  • To implement an efficient electrical maintenance and installation service for the EV and BESS systems and other associated assets.
  • Provide isolations and reenergisation to partners installing EV , BESS and other associated systems
  • To analyse faults, rectify and ensure correct operation of electrical and systems-based equipment.
  • Perform planned and proactive maintenance activities ( including statutory).
  • To ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and internal company policies

Technical Skills & Experience

  • The ability to work in a team but also alone, be resilient, self-motivated, with strong problem solving skills and possess the required technical competence
  • Diagnostic, organisational, planning, communication and computer skills
  • Demonstrable experience of working within industrial - commercial electrical installations
  • Experience of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems and associated networks to perform fault diagnostics, assist with disaster recovery and small system modifications
  • Ensure that throughout your career that the required skills, competence and recency in all relevant subject matter are maintained

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Time served apprentice or equivalent, supported with academic qualifications ideally to HNC or minimum ONC L3 equivalent in an electrical technical area
  • 18th Edition ( BS7671)
  • A valid driving licence

About The Team

  • The role is within the infrastructure team which is a niche department within Bio Energy and Fleet, providing 24/7 support to its critical electrical infrastructure
  • You’ll be joining a team that provides services ranging from Low Voltage statutory test and inspection though to High Voltage operation & maintenance within Water & Wastewaters operations.
  • It’s an opportunity for a self-motivated skilled electrical electrician( FSE) help us deliver an ambitious programme of works from EV charging through to BESS( Battery Energy Storage System) deployment and ongoing operation.
  • This is a regional role covering the whole of the Northwest of England( UUW footprint)
