What’s the purpose of your role?
As part of your role, you will join at least one project team, collaborating within a stable Agile team alongside business analysts and developers. Your involvement will span the entire project lifecycle; from understanding the scope to defining key user journeys and scenarios.
Beyond testing the product, you will play a crucial role in shaping the test strategy, which includes agreeing on the testing approach, identifying potential risks, and establishing realistic timelines to ensure successful delivery.
What You’ll Do
You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software through meticulous and detailed testing practices.
Design, develop, and maintain robust end-to-end automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript to ensure high-quality web application releases.
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to define test strategies and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Maintain and enhance existing legacy test suites written in Selenium with C# ensuring continued reliability and compatibility with evolving application features.
Troubleshoot and debug test failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Contribute to test framework improvements and advocate for best practices in test automation and code quality.
Document test cases, test results, and automation processes to support efficient testing and test reporting.
Proactively research, evaluate, and recommend new tools, frameworks, and testing.
Essential Requirements
This is a hybrid role where you will work from the office at least twice each week. Normal days in the office are Tuesdays and Thursdays.

- Relevant university IT degree
- At least 1 year of application support or automation experience
- Relevant qualifications in software development if you don't already have any practical development work experience

Essential Requirements
- Solid academic achievement including GSCEs (or equivalent) in Math and English at grades 5 to 9 as a minimum.
- ISTQB Foundation level as a minimum.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Experience in software testing, specializing in modern website validation.
- At least 2 years of hands-on expertise in writing automated tests using Selenium WebDriver or similar frameworks.
- Proven experience in testing Web UI and Web API applications to ensure functionality and performance.
- Skilled in utilizing defect tracking systems such as Microsoft DevOps, Jira, Bugzilla, and other similar platforms.
- Familiarity with functional, non-functional, and maintenance testing principles. Strong grasp of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) processes.
- Ability to analyse and interpret business requirements effectively.
- Genuine interest in and eagerness to learn about the financial services industry and its products.
- Proficient in technical testing, including functional, cross-browser, regression, and integration testing.
- Strong expertise in test automation using Playwright and ability to utilise Gherkin syntax.
- Proficiency in Web API, JavaScript, and TypeScript for software development and testing.
- Experience working with SQL for data validation and testing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
