This is a dual role with a key focus on the continued development of our eLearning platform (EDGE), while also supporting internal learning and development needs of the wider business.



The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training and competency programmes that support workforce readiness, regulatory compliance, and the strategic expansion of EDGE training offerings. It includes the development of a Competency Management System (CMS) as well as management of the Learning Management System (LMS) and the development of training content for internal teams and external clients.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:


Management & Development of EDGE eLearning Platform -

  • Manage the Elemental Energies EDGE LMS platform, ensuring optimal functionality for both internal and external training purposes.
  • Manage and continually review the Elemental Energies course library, ensuring content is current and leverages modern learning technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and EDGE key accounts to maximise training engagement and opportunities—across both eLearning and in-person formats.
  • Track and report on EDGE user engagement, training outcomes, and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work with graphic and instructional design teams to create engaging training tools, technology, and course materials aimed at improving user experience and EDGE growth.
  • Design and implement strategies for expanding the EDGE customer base, targeting current Elemental Energies clients, potential Elemental Energies clients, national oil companies (NOCs), and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the internal Sales and Marketing teams to develop and execute EDGE-specific sales and marketing campaigns, including through social media.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the organization.


Training & Competency -

  • Create, develop, implement, and manage the company’s Training and Competency Management System (CMS).
  • Develop and maintain a core competency framework in line with the Training & Competency matrix.
  • Conduct training needs analyses across departments and recommend solutions based on identified gaps.
  • Design, implement, and manage internal training and competency programs for Elemental Energies teams, in alignment with business needs and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure mandatory training and certifications (e.g., OPITO, ISO, IWCF) are current and compliant with legal and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate training records and support compliance audits.
  • Support new hire onboarding and CMS induction.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training through assessments, feedback, and competency reviews.


Person Specification:


Knowledge & Qualifications -

  • Ideally degree qualified in a relevant business subject.
  • Workplace Assessor/Internal Verifier qualifications preferred.


Skills -

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and data analysis tools.
  • Effective communication and facilitation skills.
  • Confident in delivering training to internal and external clients at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with strong delivery focus and time management skills.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Familiarity with modern learning technologies and AI-driven learning tools.


Experience -

  • Extensive experience with CMS software and competency frameworks.
  • Proven expertise in managing LMS platforms for both internal and external users.
  • A commercial mindset and sales experience would also be a significant advantage to assist in driving forward the EDGE eLearning platform.
  • Experience supporting learning initiatives within the oil and gas industry.
