Our Made In England (MIE) factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire is where it all began - the birthplace of our iconic boot and global brand. Today, it’s home to Alternative Craft—where heritage techniques meet contemporary thinking. The team is on a mission to evolve how we work while staying true to our roots. That’s where you come in.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the MIE Production Planner is a vital part of the MIE team—bringing structure, pace, and clarity to the way we manufacture. This role, you’ll keep everything moving, balancing demand with capacity, and helping the factory deliver quality products with efficiency and flow.
The role is based on-site at the factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire.
As our MIE Production Planner you will be responsible for:
- Building and managing production schedules that align with demand and capacity
- Spotting risks early and solving problems before they slow us down
- Collaborating with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality to keep production on track
- Managing inventory and materials to support smooth, cost-effective operations
- Driving improvements in planning and process, always with attention to detail
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
- Proven experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment (APICS certification is a strong advantage)
- Robust analytical thinking and a proactive, solutions-first mindset
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory control
- Proficiency using Excel and planning tools (ERP experience is a bonus)
- A sharp eye for detail, a sense of urgency, and a drive to make things better
- Organise: prioritise demands, manage time effectively, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead: set individual performance and development goals linked to our business strategy. Maintaining motivation, supporting others and embodying our purpose and values.
- Influence: share ideas confidently, listen empathetically, and adapt approach to resonate with others, bringing positivity and strong communication skills to inspire enthusiasm.
