The Role
We are looking for a Junior Buyer, ideally with some experience within an indirect procurement environment. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual whose internal relationships will be as important as those with your suppliers.
Previous experience within indirect categories is preferred, particularly from an automotive/manufacturing environment. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to manage the operational requirements of a manufacturing business alongside managing and developing supplier relationships whilst challenging them on Quality, Lead times and Cost.
This is an opportunity for a keen junior buyer to develop into a fully established Indirect Buyer.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Purchase of Indirect goods and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
- Preparation and communication of RFQ to supplier
- Process of purchase requisitions (as per the agreed guidelines) and release of Purchase Orders to suppliers
- Negotiate supplier quotes for release of PO
- Support the Indirect Manager & Buyers and other relevant departments, communicating supply chain issues
- Creation and maintenance of material management for recurring IDM items
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications, ensuring a professional and consistent approach
- Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues & escalate to management if/where required
- Access and contribute to the evaluation of current and/or prospective suppliers in relation to performance (quality, cost, delivery)
- Keep IDM database up to date (supplier master folders, spend/savings tracker, contract database)
- General procurement administration & house-keeping
- Confidence to build working relationships with a variety of current and new suppliers
- Willingness to build relationships with internal departments to drive the importance of the procurement function
- Comfortable using all Microsoft Office packages
- Knowledge of SAP systems
- Negotiation skills and commercial awareness
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritise tasks
- Previous experience of indirect procurement is desirable within an automotive / manufacturing landscape
- Knowledge and experience of using procurement business systems (SAP) is desirable
