Responsibilities Will Include

• Review and enhance procurement strategy to optimise cost, quality, service levels, and supplier reliability
• Working with internal functions to ensure all stakeholders needs are met.
• Source global suppliers and manage the procurement life cycle, including new product introduction.
• Manage procurement team performance, development plans, and appraisals
• Work closely with the Head of Supply Chain to manage procurement strategy and ensure optimal supplier performance and cost.
• Lead activities such as supplier evaluation, contract management, risk assessment, and long-term relationship building.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs.
• Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate agreements, and implement KPIs for continuous improvement.
• Support contract negotiation and terms with suppliers.
• Oversee the procurement process from sourcing to delivery.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Undertaking all aspects of procurement related activity to achieve on-time delivery, meeting cost and quality requirements.
• Regularly visit suppliers to maintain relationship and manage schedules, risks and opportunities.
• Strong background in demand planning, inventory management, asset management, spares and repairs provision
• Create expediting reports and undertake expediting activity with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries in accordance with programme requirements.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• A CIPS/MCIPS qualification or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years' experience of working in a Procurement / Supply Chain environment, ideally within a maritime / defence environment.
• A proficient negotiator with strong commercial awareness and influencing skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to pass information clearly and accurately
• Leadership and team management skills, with a track record of driving performance.
• IT Proficient – MS Office, JIRA, Confluence
• Great attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• The ability to understand and apply feedback on work performance.
• Adaptable - maintaining established process whilst initiating and driving change and efficiencies.
• Collaborative and proactive / 'can-do’ working style.
• Procurement governance and compliance
• Excellent collaboration and team working skills
• Risk and opportunity management
• Experience of ERP systems ideally Infor LN
  
  

Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.*
