Business Support Administrator
Nottinghamshire County Council

The Strategic Safeguarding Team within the Adult Social Care & Heath Department of Nottinghamshire County Council is based at County Hall in West Bridgford. The team is part of the Adult Safeguarding Group which, as well as offering a number of services across social care and health, also incorporates the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
You will be required to provide administrative support to the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB), associated subgroups and assist the strategic officers in the team to carry out their work.
The main duties of this post are to organise the Board and sub-groups and produce a transcript of the minutes of the meetings. This will mostly be done by use of digital technology but on occasion you may be required to attend meetings on and off-site to take the minutes. An excellent level of attention to detail is therefore essential.
You will also be expected to support the safeguarding training requirement.
As part of your duties, you will be required to:
- liaise with partner agencies
- co-ordinate meeting dates
- book venues
- receive incoming calls
- type letters
- raise orders for goods and services
You will be an experienced administrator, with proven administrative skills, excellent IT, communication and customer service skills, able to work in a pressurised environment, organise your own workload independently and be self-motivated. You should be committed to delivering a high standard of customer care and have an understanding of safeguarding and the need for confidentiality and data protection.
Relevant training will be provided.
The role is hybrid with an expectation that you work from the office approximately once a week (as required by business needs), although you may be expected to attend the office more regularly during initial training.
In return, you will be joining an organisation with excellent employee terms and conditions (eg, Flexitime), opportunities for career development and the chance to make a difference to the local people of Nottinghamshire.
For an informal discussion on this role, please contact: Sharon Maggs, Business Support Officer, Tel (0115) 854 6034.
