About Madeleine House:
Madeleine House is a warm and supportive care home providing residential and dementia care in a quiet suburb of Birmingham. Set within beautiful grounds, the home offers a calm and friendly environment and is close to shops and local transport links. Our dedicated staff provide round-the-clock care, with residents enjoying regular social activities and nutritious, home-cooked meals prepared daily using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The Role:
As a Handyperson, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring our home remains safe, tidy, and in good repair for the comfort and wellbeing of our residents and staff. Your tasks will include general maintenance, repairs, health & safety checks, and supporting the setup of rooms for new residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance tasks and odd jobs to a high standard
- Ensure health & safety practices are always followed
- Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies within budget
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance work
- Support with preparing vacant rooms for new residents
About You:
We’re looking for someone with:
- General maintenance experience (preferably in a care or housing setting)
- Good knowledge of health & safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- A friendly, helpful attitude and good interpersonal skills
- A Level 2 qualification in customer service is desirable, as is previous experience working with older people.
