Salary Range: £30,000- £35,000

About The Role

Reporting into the Health and Safety Manager, you will be integral to the health, safety, and environment strategy by inspiring and influencing others to see the benefit of working responsibly, understanding the legal framework and showing how safety, health and environmental management can enhance operational activities.

Responsibilities

Supporting the Health and Safety Manager to:


  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety laws (e.g., Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH, PUWER, etc.).
  • Assist with audits and inspections to verify regulatory adherence.
  • Keep up to date with industry-specific safety legislation and best practices.
  • Identify workplace hazards and supporting the implementation of control measures.
  • Review risk assessments and recommending mitigation measures.
  • Support the development and implementation of safe work procedures.
  • Assist in accident, incident, and near-miss investigations.
  • Collect and analyse safety data to identify trends and prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide guidance to employees on safe work practices.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify and rectify safety issues.
  • Assist in internal and external safety audits.
  • Ensure safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, emergency exits, PPE) is in proper working order.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  • Conduct fire drills and other emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Ensure first aid stations and emergency equipment are maintained.
  • Maintain safety records as required
  • Assist with the preparation of safety manuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all safety-related activities.
  • Monitor PPE usage.
  • Inspect PPE to ensure it meets safety standards.
  • Train employees on the correct use and maintenance of PPE.
  • Encourage safe behaviours to reduce workplace stress and injuries.
  • Coordinate with external safety consultants or suppliers
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and contributing to policy development


About You


  • Substantial experience within a similar level role.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to manage priorities.
  • Enthusiasm for their work and self-motivated.
  • Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.
