£28,500 per annum Please note successful candidates should expect to be appointed at the starting point of the salary scale and consideration may be given to a higher salary depending on the experience of the individual.

As part of our commitment to supporting People facing adversity. Working in a multiagency approach to support and enhance clients’ employability using a multifaceted approach within Barnsley, to tackle barriers they face to gaining employment. The role will of: -
- Delivery of casework, employability support and building the foundation for skills and aspirations. It will be achieved through both discrete delivery and embedding employment and skills support into existing provisions;
- Establishment of an support service links within Barnsley to share good practice, review and developing the existing offer to prison leavers and those facing homelessness, informed by need and socio-economic factors; and
- Create links with potential employers and employment forums within the region
(1) Key Deliverables
- To hold and support a caseload of clients, some of facing various forms of adversity, to overcome barriers, increase employability and progress into meaningful and sustainable Education, Training and Employment
- To support the promotion of the project internally and externally to support the achievement of project targets for engagement and progression onto training, employment and other outcomes
- To develop and deliver one to one and group activities which are engaging and high quality
- Maintaining accurate and timely client records and evidence of all achieved outcomes
- Establish excellent partnership working with key organisations, employers and partners
- Carry out promotional, marketing, information and recruitment activities to engage clients and build relationships with key partners and stakeholders
- Attend and contribute to all relevant meetings as directed
- Develop contacts and liaise with external agencies to develop positive working relationships, enabling effective referrals of participants and developing progression opportunities
- Ensure the delivery is of good quality and complies with Matrix standards
- Actively assist in the implementation of the Trust’s policies and procedures

- Substantial experience and strong track record in successfully supporting people into sustainable employment. (A)
- Experience with managing a caseload and achieving individual set targets for engagement, training and employment outcomes and supporting colleagues to achieve overall project targets. (A)
- Experience providing a person led support service that responds to individual’s employment and wider needs and aspirations. Key elements will include assessment, IAG, action planning, engagement and motivation, personal development, support to secure training or apprenticeships; work preparation and transition/sustainment support, to ensure clients sustain their progress
- Experience of working to high standards of evaluation processes. An understanding of current labour market trends and knowledge of employment rights and contract types. (A)
- Awareness of Matrix standards and ability to implement quality assurance measures
- Minimum Level 3 Advice and Guidance qualification or equivalent
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to engage and holistically support those who may face multiple and complex barriers to employment. (A)
- Ability to work in line with project requirements while supporting client to progress. (A)
- In-depth knowledge and awareness of the issues faced by the client group in accessing and sustaining employment and methods that result in positive outcomes. An ability to have empathy and humanity in your interactions with these clients. (A)
- Ability to engage and build positive relationships with employers to support both employees and employers, and encourage improvements to the quality of employment. (A)
- Experience of monitoring, evidencing and reporting on work with clients and the results achieved. Ability to work to targets and record information to enable effective monitoring of performance against targets. (A)
- Understanding of Matrix standards and ability to implement quality assurance measures
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with other staff, volunteers, Peer Advisors managers and partners, to set and deliver goals and to resolve conflicts of interest professionally
- Knowledge of commitment to safeguarding practices and policies, and ability to promote safeguarding of vulnerable participants and colleagues. (A)

- Strong IT skills including proven experience of using Word, Excel and Outlook in a similar work environment. Ability to work with case-management databases (ie. Salesforce) on a day-to-day basis. (A)
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly and occasionally at partner organisations when required
- Successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced DBS check, on the basis that the post involves contact with vulnerable participants and colleagues
