Are you an experienced Health & Safety Advisor? Do you want the opportunity to be the subject matter expert? Ready for a new challenge?
Here at GXO, we are looking for a Health & Safety Support Lead to work with our customer Diageo at our Runcorn site. You will ensure that all compliance on site is managed to ensure the legalities, health and safety of the site are not compromised.
Shaping the culture and approach of the workforce while supporting and developing the team through leading, coaching, and communicating - facilitating a focus on business excellence and continuous improvement of operational efficiency and customer service. Knowledge of a production environment would be advantageous
This is a full time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday 08:00 till 16:00. However, flexibility is available from us as we need the same from you as this is a 24/7 operation.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Conduct & carry out internal compliance audits; Ensuring all audit targets are achieved. Report on findings and manage issue log through to completion
- Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation whilst promoting “Road to Zero” safety ethos
- Ensuring the business is compliant with on-site safety processes in line with GXO policies and QHSE guidance, making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow safety protocol
- Manage local work groups ensuring all issues are properly dealt with or escalated as required
- Manage relationships with internal departments to ensure efficient operations and communications are achieved
- Contractor control – including RAMS reviews, contractor inductions and monitoring work standards accordingly
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (essential)
- Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other legislation relevant to the company’s business
- At least 18 months experience in a similar role/environment
- IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook is essential
