Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a passion for front-end development to join our team working with a media client. In this role, you'll play a key part in the development process, from writing new features and fixing bugs to performing code reviews.

You'll work on projects related to Short Form and Portrait Video in Salford or Articles in Cardiff, contributing to significant improvements in video experiences across the company. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams in an autonomous, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in JavaScript, React, CSS, and Node.js, with experience in accessibility, performance optimization, and automated testing.

Key Skills And Responsibilities

• Expertise in JavaScript, React, CSS, and Node.js
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (a11y)
• Experience in optimizing browser performance
• Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments with frequent context switching
• Proficient in automated testing and TDD practices
• Familiarity with video and multimedia (preferred)
• Experience in mentoring or coaching developers (preferred)
• Collaborative team player with a willingness to learn
• Ability to write and maintain technical documentation
