We are seeking applicants for the following roles:
- 1 x Naval Architecture Summer Placement (Bath);
- 1 x Naval Architecture Summer Placement (Whiteley/Southampton Office).
The Main Responsibilities Will Be To
- Develop and apply your breadth of naval architecture skills;
- Use software and technologies to help solve complex engineering problems;
- Contribute to developing new designs, and to maintain and improve the design of existing ships and submarines through undertaking research & development, bidding or project work;
- Be part of a team interacting directly with our clients;
- Get the most out of your time with us through being pro-active and asking questions when you are unsure.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Naval Architecture;
- Interested in working in the defence or commercial sectors and keen to get experience of working in the business environment
- Experienced in using engineering/naval architecture software packages be that 2D or 3D CAD, stability or FEA packages.
- Be proactive with an enquiring nature and able to work in a team environment.
- Able to communicate your thoughts and work in a clear and coherent manner, both verbally and in writing and able to manage your work to deadlines.
- Opportunity to gain experience of developing and directly applying your naval architecture knowledge and skills in the business environment.
- Support research and development activities, bidding and delivery of our projects.
- Improve your commercial awareness.
