Job Summary

The Marketing and Admissions Director fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by planning and implementing the overall admission process for the school and by planning, guiding, and evaluating the marketing efforts to advance the school’s mission. The Director of Marketing and Admissions has decision-making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal.

Ministerial Character

Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations. Pastors, presidents, and principals serve as leaders of the schools to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the schools. In order to fulfill Christ's mission, the school leaders employ suitable, chosen collaborators, sharing with them Christ's mission and entrusting to them various responsibilities.

Positions employed in this School help extend the ministry of the School leaders in particular ways as outlined in the job description. The employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the School leaders in the performance of their ministry and, therefore, engages in ministry for the Church.

Requirements

Essential Duties

  • Writes and submits press releases regularly to keep the school news in front of the public.
  • Creates and maintains the development of a media relations program that includes relationship building with online and traditional news sources.
  • Designing and creating all promotional materials, both physical and online, while maintaining the school brand standards.
  • Leading and coordinating all communications (weekly newsletter, special announcements, school and fundraising events, etc.) in collaboration with the principal and other school staff.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the school’s online presence through our website, social media, and beyond (via Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Serving as a joyful public face of the school alongside the school’s administrators and other school staff.
  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
  • Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters and shows leadership in advocating the mission of the school.
  • Presents the school to prospective families through proactive communication, outreach, and events. Plans and implements a comprehensive admission program including tours, open houses, shadow visits, and orientations for prospective families.
  • Serves as the primary relationship manager with all prospective families with timely communication and directs the admissions process from point of inquiry through enrollment.
  • Prepares admission material, engages a parent enrollment committee, and maintains admissions marketing on the website, with outreach to parishes, and collaboration with local family businesses, childcare centers, and religious education programs.
  • Maintains the accuracy of the school’s student/family database and serves as the school resource for questions/training.
  • Provides insight and input into the strategy and design of marketing initiatives to drive prospective families to consider Holy Trinity Catholic High School.
  • Communicates effectively within the school community and with administration, faculty, and parish.
  • Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese/local administration.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
  • Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students and staff.
  • Supports office staff and their work as needed.
  • Prepares statistical reports as needed.
  • Maintains the schools archiving system for student records.
  • Maintains photography permissions and shares with school personnel and the Development Office.
  • Plans for and supports the preparation of the family directory.
  • Collaborates effectively with the principal, Development Committee, school associations, committee chairs and volunteers.
  • Ensures that practices are in compliance with school, Diocesan, city, county and state regulations.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
  • Collaborates with others to enhance the work environment.
  • Conferences with others upon request and responds to messages in a timely manner.
  • Attends and participates as needed in faculty meetings as well as professional and community organizations.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Able to serve as a professional ambassador and representative of the school

Education

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)

Experience

  • Experience in school admissions, with direct and primary responsibility for managing relationships with prospective families OR equivalent in a sales, recruiting, or marketing role.
  • Marketing or related field preferred

Certifications And Training

  • Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 30 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.

Working Conditions

All employees must adhere to the Catholic Schools Standards of Conduct, the Diocese of Austin EIM policies, and the social, ethical, and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church as interpreted by the Bishop of Austin.
