Help shape brighter futures for care-experienced and vulnerable young people as our new Trustee at Life Chance Trust.
What difference will you make?
As a Trustee, you will help guide Life Chance Trust’s strategic direction and ensure it remains a safe, effective, and sustainable organisation. Your input will directly impact the lives of young people who need support the most to have brighter futures.
What are we looking for?
What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who Brings a passion for safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people. Has experience of working at a strategic level – in governance, safeguarding, education, youth work, health, or social care. Understands the responsibilities and legal duties of being a trustee. Can think strategically and exercise sound, independent judgement. Is a clear and confident communicator, able to contribute effectively to Board discussions. Is committed to values of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Experience with safeguarding policy and practice – particularly in the charity, education, or social care sector – is highly desirable.

Life Chance Trust is a Devon-based charity dedicated to transforming the lives of care-experienced and vulnerable young people. Through mentorship, skills development, and tailored support, we empower young people to take control of their futures. We are now seeking a Safeguarding Trustee to join our committed Board. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact, contributing to the governance, strategy, and safeguarding oversight of a values-led organisation. What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who Brings a passion for safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people. Has experience of working at a strategic level – in governance, safeguarding, education, youth work, health, or social care. Understands the responsibilities and legal duties of being a trustee. Can think strategically and exercise sound, independent judgement. Is a clear and confident communicator, able to contribute effectively to Board discussions. Is committed to values of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Experience with safeguarding policy and practice – particularly in the charity, education, or social care sector – is highly desirable. Time Commitment Estimated at around 3-5 hours per month, including Four Board meetings per year (3 held online, 1 in-person in Newton Abbot 4.30pm-6.30pm). Participation in sub-committees or strategic initiatives where relevant. To be able to provide guidance to the Head of Trust if a safeguarding concern arises.
