Siltbuster is looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to develop and grow both our Rental and Sales business by identifying and securing new business opportunities and building long term strategic relationships with partners and new potential clients. The successful BDM will manage key accounts and support the sales and marketing teams to identify and close business opportunities and help achieve the companies, continued growth aspirations.


As the ideal candidate you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a knack for networking, and a strategic mindset focused on identifying and nurturing new business opportunities. You will report into the Sales Director, as part of the Companies Techno-Commercial team, and initial key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating of long-term value for Siltbuster in relation to Customers, Markets, Partners and Relationships by developing and implementing companywide business development & growth strategies
  • Identifying, researching, generating, & opening new clients (key accounts), opportunities, markets & sub-sectors
  • Support and help drive brand identity, visibility and engagement
  • Collaborating with companywide cross-functional teams to assess opportunity feasibility, optimising potential options and create tailored solutions that meet client needs
  • Supporting & working closely with all sectors and related company activities (UK Sectors & International Partners)
  • Representing the Company at meetings giving presentations, training and holding technical and commercial negotiations
  • Managing the Accounts of strategic partners & Key (high profile) customers
  • Identifying, shaping, negotiating, closing and managing Preferred Supplier Agreements (with key clients) & targeted Frameworks
  • Staying informed about industry trends, market activities, and competitors to identify new business opportunities.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
  • Learning cross departmental specific skills and activities as applicable.

About you

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the water-environmental sector, with practical and positive outlook. Proven experience of Water/Wastewater Treatment Business Development (or Sales) within the UK is crucial and experience with the UK Municipal Sector in highly preferred.  Technical knowledge of wastewater treatment is preferable however not mandatory providing an appetite to develop an understanding.


You will have a strong commercial acumen and knowhow of the sales lifecycle from conception to delivery. You will also have a demonstrated ability to identify and develop new opportunities as well as manage and grow large accounts and partnerships, with a focus on long-term client relationships & key account management.


Willingness and ability to travel (across the UK) to support activities and maintain key relationships is paramount.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Proven knowledge of principles and methods for driving profitable growth in a rental and sales orientated business.
  • Demonstrated experience in Business Development management with excellent leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding planning and organising skills, with the ability to ensure efficient and effective daily time management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent analysis, data interpretation and technical, skills to identify project / client needs
  • A basic understanding the key elements associated with Wastewater treatment and applicable design standards is preferential
  • Competent in the use of Office 365 notably Excel and Word.
  • Full UK driving licence preferential
